Student Employee of the Year Awards - winners!

Congratulations to the winners and nominees in the Student Employee of the Year Awards 2015. Thursday 4th June was The University of Sheffield celebration awards event for all the nominees and the announcement of the institutional and regional winners. The regional winners will progress through to the national rounds of the competition.

On Campus Step Up to Leadership Winner: Adam Millar – Casual Shift Supervisor - Coffee Revolution Students’ Union

The event was organised by The University of Sheffield Student Jobshop and was held at Inox Dine in the Students’ Union building.  The glitzy event was a fabulous opportunity to bring together recognised student employees and their employers to celebrate their fantastic achievements.
The Student Employee of the Year Awards is a national competition that aims to recognise and promote the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who combine part-time work with their study commitments.   Employers are asked to nominate their exceptional students in three different categories; Above and Beyond, Step Up to Leadership and Commercial Impact, these can be either working on or off campus. There is also an employer award where students can nominate their employer.

On Campus Employer winner: Emma Briant – Lecturer Journalism Studies
Student Jobshop Coordinator – Amy Gray gave an introduction to the event and spoke about the structure of the awards, Steve Fish – Deputy Director of Student Services at the University of Sheffield announced and presented winners with an award at institutional level, these also went through to the North East Region level of the awards.
